In a recent report by Marc J. Spears of Andscape, Jayson Tatum has reached out to Damian Lillard for a potential trade that will see him traded from Portland to Boston. Tatum envisioned a formidable trio in Boston consisting of Jaylen Brown, Damian Lillard, and himself. Lillard made it clear that he exclusively wants to play for the Miami Heat, along with the two-time Eastern Conference Finals-winning duo of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
After the Boston Celtics lost in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Miami Heat, they have been striving to upgrade their roster and regain their status as top contenders in the league. In a recent three-team trade involving Boston, Memphis, and Washington, they traded away Marcus Smart, their longest-serving player, for Kristaps Porzingis.
Chris Haynes from Bleacher Report is known to be close to Dame. He has revealed that the Celtics are not the team where Lillard sees a future. Furthermore, the Celtics acquired Kristaps Porzingis, who exercised his $36 million player option for the upcoming season and received a 2-year, $60 million extension. It presents a challenge for Boston to pursue a trade for Damian Lillard without involving Jaylen Brown in the potential deal.

Damian Lillard’s agent warns teams other than the Miami Heat against trading for him
ESPN’s Senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Aaron Goodwin, Damian Lillard’s agent, has been reportedly telling other teams that if they trade for his client, they will receive an unhappy player. This might just be a tactic to lower the offers from other teams so that it clears a path for Dame to Miami.
The Portland Trail Blazers’ front office only has one goal in mind, i.e., to get the best possible deal for their franchise player. Goodwin, Lillard’s agent, has taken matters into his own hands by reaching out to teams like the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics, who have expressed interest in acquiring Lillard this offseason.
Unlike Bradley Beal, who was recently traded to his trade-favored destination, The Phoenix Suns, due to his no-trade clause, Damian Lillard’s contract does not contain that clause. Consequently, he can be traded to any team that offers the Portland Trail Blazers the most enticing package for the seven-time All-Star. However, the message conveyed by Lillard’s agent may deter teams from trading for him, thereby increasing the likelihood of him ending up in his preferred destination, Miami.
