Jayson Tatum will be facing his fourth elimination game and third of the season moving ahead into Game 6. The Golden State Warriors were very tactful in taking advantage of the Boston Celtics biggest problem in the post-season. They have been turning over the ball the most out of any team in the playoffs so far. The three games that they have lost were because of the high turnover rate.
The knights in green have the most important elimination game to play on Thursday night. So far the Celtics players have been confident ahead of the crucial matchup. Jaylen Brown opened up about how he felt about the situation saying, “everything has been a learning experience where everything that we learn has been like a badge of honor that we wear, we don’t let it hang over our heads, we bounce back, we’ve been able to respond well all year.”

Jayson Tatum averaged solid numbers during the regular season and for the most part of the playoffs. In 76 games he started, the player averaged 26.9 points, 8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game shooting 45.3% from the field. In the month of the March he averaged 32.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game giving the Celtics a last minute boost to the top of the Eastern Conference rankings.
The playoffs have been more or impressive as well but he has had some downs too. Tatum has recorded a total of 95 turnovers this playoff run which is the most since they started tracking the attribute in 1977. He is also shooting the worst field percentage (36%) from within the paint in the last 25 years on at least 30 attempts.
Jayson Tatum speaks on entering the elimination round once again this post-season
Jayson Tatum opened up about what he felt coming into one of the important games of his entire NBA career. He said, “Everybody is upbeat and confident. Obviously, we know this is the finals but throughout the playoffs, we’ve had three elimination games. So we’ve been in this situation before. If you’re not upbeat for this, you’re in the wrong field.”
“Obviously you’re down 3-2 it’s like, ‘Alright there’s a lot more I could be doing.’ And I still have more opportunities. So that’s what I’m forward to. I can’t change what these last five games have been like. I can be in control of what I can do to help my team out tomorrow.” He also added saying, “The mindset is do whatever it takes. At most we got two games left. I’m not ready for the season to be over yet.”
