“Didn’t get the benefit of doubt” Jayson Tatum slams referees after getting embarrassed in Game 2 vs Warriors

Jayson Tatum Vs Golden State Warriors

The NBA Finals are now even after the Golden State Warriors used a third-quarter masterpiece to transform a close match into a blowout. The Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics 107-88 in Game 2 on Sunday night, with Stephen Curry scoring 29 points. After a rarely bad shooting night in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Jayson Tatum regained his scoring touch, but the rest of his Boston Celtics teammates went missing. Tatum recovered from a 3-for-17 shooting effort in the first game to lead Boston’s offense with 28 points. But, other than a strong start by Jaylen Brown, he didn’t have any support, and the Celtics didn’t have any answers.

Jordan Poole led the Warriors with 17 points in the third quarter, as they outscored Boston 35-14 to transform a two-point halftime lead into a 23-point advantage. The Celtics accepted their defeat and cleared their bench after the Warriors scored the opening six points of the fourth quarter. Boston shot 37.5 percent overall and had problems making anything inside the 3-point line all night as the Warriors converted a competitive game into a runaway with a 35-14 blitz when the Celtics’ outside shooting went cold in the third quarter.

To win this series, Boston needs Jayson Tatum to score, but the finals have shown that they play best when everyone is involved in the offence while also taking good care of the ball. Tatum’s bad performance may not be completely his fault. “I just kind of felt like we weren’t getting the benefit of the doubt when we were trying to play with that physicality,” Tatum, who led the team with 28 points but only had one basket after halftime, criticized the officials in this situation. Since Game 3 of the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat, Tatum has been dealing with a shoulder soreness which, later in Game 2 showed on the floor.
