Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum‘s son is quite famous in the NBA world. The star brings his 6-year-old son Deuce to most of his home games, and the kid has grabbed the internet’s attention on multiple occasions. However, recently Deuce went viral for striking a pose mirroring one of the greats in the NBA.
On Saturday, Jayson Tatum shared a picture of his son on Instagram. In the picture, Deuce is seen imitating Kobe Bryant‘s iconic 2001 championship pose. He is seen sitting with a sad expression on his face holding a trophy exactly like Bryant did. The picture quickly went viral as fans were in awe of the superstar’s son.
Deuce seems to be following his dad’s footsteps, as Tatum captioned the photo ‘My favorite hooper‘, hinting that Deuce won the trophy in basketball. Recently, Tatum revealed that Deuce has started to fall in love with basketball after beginning to play on an organized team while expressing excitement to watch his son play.
Deuce is not the only member of the Tatum family who is hitting milestones. The Boston Celtics forward is currently on this year’s MVP ladder. The athlete is averaging 27.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists this season. Tatum’s amazing potential has also benefitted his team’s performance as the Celtics currently have the best record (58-16) in the NBA.
Jayson Tatum texted Kobe Bryant before the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals
Deuce is not the first fan of the Lakers’ legend in his family. Tatum over the years has expressed his admiration for the veteran and also sees Bryant as a role model. In 2022, before the Celtics got the ticket for the NBA Finals, Tatum took inspiration from Bryant to reach the milestone.
Tatum texted his idol before heading for game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals. During the game, Tatum also wore the No. 24 armband as a tribute to his idol. The Celtics managed to beat the Miami Heat in the final game of the series. After the victory, Tatum shared a celebratory post on Instagram. Along with the pictures of the winning moments, Tatum shared a screenshot of his text “I got you today,” to the late Bryant.
Tatum won the Eastern Conference finals MVP trophy after watching Bryant’s highlights before the game. Four years after Bryant’s passing, Tatum revealed regretting not texting Bryant more often. The Black Mamba himself shared his number and gave the liberty to call and text him whenever Tatum wanted.
