Jayson Tatum has one of the toughest games in his entire career ahead of him. The player became one of the top individuals during the playoffs leading his team through tough defenses such as the Milwaukee Bucks and now the Miami Heat. Right now, they are tied in the Eastern Conferences Finals with Game 7 just a day’s time away.

The Celtics barely made it out of the East during the initial part of the season after enduring through an injured player and then seeing now chemistry between each other. In order words, they had the assets but did not understand how to use them to their fullest potential. Tatum became one of the biggest reasons why they were able to reach the top in a short period of time.

Jayson Tatum has been putting on consistent numbers throughout the playoffs. His potential on defense has always been a strong point in holding off scorers like Kevin Durant who visibly showed his struggle against Tatum. In this series, he has been averaging 24.8 points, 8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game which is a slight dip from what he would usually contribute.

In-Game 6 against the Heat, both teams were almost similar in stats. On multiple occasions, Boston looked like they would regain the lead and close out the series but the opposition’s defense helped stop them. In a tweet from Tim Bontemps, Jayson revealed how confident he felt his team will win going into Game 7, he said, “On a scale of 1 to 10? 10.”

The Heat turned the tables over after two offensively disturbing performances in Games 4 and 5. Jimmy Butler helped lead his team in the clinch finishing with 47 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists on 16-29 shooting. Kyle Lowry had an additional 18 points with 10 assists. Miami shot 46.2% from the field, 42.9% from three, and 96% from the free-throw line.

Defensively, both teams were extremely sound as they should be recording 10 steals each. Jayson Tatum led Boston with 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists but his efforts would not help them last. Jaylen Brown had 20 points in the game. Derrick White helped add 22 points to the total. Their shooting splits were .444/.333/.903%.
