“Lakers have internal issues” Jeanie Buss openly snubbed LeBron James for Michael Jordan in GOAT conversation

Although LeBron James is the face of the Los Angeles Lakers and the NBA, owner Jeanie Buss might not be a fan. While James is the commander of her organization’s squad, Buss acknowledged the legendary Bulls player Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time in the NBA 2k23 game’s unveiling video. In the same year that Jordan left the NBA, LeBron began his NBA career. James was compared to Jordan from the start of his career on, making him perhaps the most anticipated rookie of all time. However, Jeanie Buss did not think twice before claiming that His Airness was superior to the star player of her own franchise and was the greatest to ever grace the hardwood.

The long-running GOAT discussion sometimes devolves into an argument with no clear winner. There have been several players throughout the league who have a strong claim to this renowned title. However, the likes of two legends, LeBron James and Michael Jordan, have mostly dominated this discussion. In the eyes of some, Michael Jordan’s six championships make him the best and others view LeBron James as the GOAT due to his consistency and three titles with different clubs.

Lebron James or Michael Jordan, who is the GOAT?

LeBron James, a contender for the greatest NBA player of all time, appears to be an exceptional example of a player who has maintained a high level of success for more than 20 years. He has won four MVP awards, four NBA titles, and four MVP accolades in the Finals. The two time  Olympic gold has scored 25 points or more on average in the NBA for 17 straight seasons. James, an NBA record-tying three-time All-Star MVP and the all-time leading scorer in the All-Star Game, appeared in 18 of them. With 37062 points, James is second all-time in scoring, only behind Kareem Abdul Jabbar. In terms of triple-doubles among active players, he is ranked second only to Russell Westbrook.

Michael Jordan is considered to be the greatest player in NBA history and has won 10 scoring championships as he averaged 30.1 points per game during his career and 33.5 points per game during the playoffs.  Between 1991 and 1993 with the Chicago Bulls and then again between 1996 and 1998, Michael won six NBA titles, including two “three-peats” in which he went 6-0 in the Finals. He is credited for improving the standing of the league and is renowned for building on the accomplishments of players that came before him. In terms of global recognition, Jordan is compared to other athletes who have succeeded as their own brands and who have become icons all over the world.

Naturally, because she is the Lakers’ owner, the team’s supporters asked for an explanation for her comments on social media jokingly.
