Damian Lillard like the past off-seasons is once again ruling the headlines and his future with the Portland Trail Blazers is uncertain. We may finally get to watch Lillard don some other jersey or else like every year he’ll just make some noise and get back to the ball for the team that drafted him and since then has failed to land a superstar to help him out.
After weeks of rumors and failed efforts, Damian Lillard now waits for the front office of the Portland Trail Blazers to bring in a superstar and turn the team into a contender. And, if they failed to do so and start rebuilding around, Damian Lillard will be on his way out and as said by him he’ll love to join the Miami Heat and play alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
Damian Lillard though has been clowning the fans via his Instagram Live. This time unintentionally he had the basketball world thinking he wants to join the Miami Heat which is actually true. On IG Live, he was vibing to Will Smith’s “Miami” Song. The “Welcome to Miami” lyrics really had him smiling as he realized the impact it was going to have. The clip got viral in moments and many believed it was time for him to force his way out and join the Heat team.
Even Jimmy Butler is trying to get a part of it. Just like every other day while sharing the music he loves to listen to on his IG stories. He even shared a song by Damian Lillard, “Money Ball” and even tagged him in it. Butler has now been accused by the internet of recruiting Damian Lillard to the Heat team and flirting back with the superstar while his team is interested in bringing him on board.

Damian Lillard’s agent wasted no time in clearing the dirt off his name. As with the viral video and several assumptions which hinted at his exit from the Portland Trailblazers to join the Miami Heat things were getting out of hand. So his agent, Aaron Goodwin clarified how all of it was a coincidence and the song “Miami” wasn’t played intentionally.
Aaron Goodwin defending his client in his interview with Sam Amick of The Athletic told: “The music was just a coincidence. Damian’s not disrespectful. He’s not an instigator, so he’s not going to do anything out of character. There would be no reason for him to do that. That’s why he laughed (in the video). It’s a funny coincidence that a DJ would put that on.”
The coincidence though can soon be turned into reality. As the Miami Heat are really interested in landing Damian Lillard as the primary point guard of their system. The Blazers though have removed Dame from the trading block and are aggressively trying to get in a superstar as they have drafted Scoot Henderson. If they don’t get things right, Dame may force his way out and Miami Heat will try their best to acquire him.
