The Miami Heat have been on a sensational playoff run this season. They entered the postseason as the eighth seed as underdogs for many. However, despite not being favorites, Miami now looks strong to enter the NBA Finals. They went up against the Milwaukee Bucks in the first-round series. The Bucks were the number one seed in the East and were favorites to get through. However, Jimmy Butler and Co. caused a huge upset to the 2021 NBA Champions as they won the series 4-1. Although, their victory came at the price of young guard Tyler Herro.
Tyler Herro was one of Miami’s most important players. He was drafted in 2019 by the franchise and has played for them ever since. Moreover, Herro played as a starter for the Heat for predominant of the 2022-23 NBA season. However, his services were unfortunately brought to a halt after the guard broke his hand in Game 1 against the Bucks Herro was chasing after a loose ball when he fell on his hand as the injury occurred.
Tyler Herro was in great touch for Miami as he was the team’s second-highest leading scorer. Second to Jimmy Butler. He averaged about 20.1 points per game with 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists. Moreover, he had a shooting percentage of 43.9 percent from the field and 37.8 percent shooting from the three-point line. However, after Heat’s sensational run this postseason, many believe that Herro’s absence might be a blessing in disguise. NBA analyst Zach Lowe was one of the most recent people to speak in favor of that.
“I think Tyler Herro’s injury may have actually helped them because now they play lineups with a maximum of one guy you could really hunt on defense and a minimum of zero… If your offense is All Jimmy, I don’t think it’s crazy to say they’ve been better without Herro,” he said explaining how Herro’s absence might’ve gone in favor of Miami.

Twitter reacts to Zach Lowe’s statement on Tyler Herro

Moreover, many fans even called Herro overrated despite his impressive number this season. Here are a few reactions from Twitter:
Although Tyler Herro’s importance to the lineup might be a debate, the Heat’s impressive performance this playoff run is no argument. Jimmy Butler has been absolutely magnificent. Moreover, he’s been getting invaluable help from teammates like Bam Adebayo and Gabe Vincent.
The Heat are currently leading 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals series. As they are just one win away, they would like to win Game 4 at home and advance to the NBA Finals. If they manage to beat the Boston Celtics in Game 4, they will play the Denver Nuggets for their second finals appearance in four years.
