“Shutup…no commision for you” Jimmy Butler refuses to pay $842,500 to former sports manager

Jimmy Butler as been one of the top guns in the NBA lately. Being on that level would bring unimaginable benefits and deals that could keep them settled for generations ahead. However, becoming a top tier players like him or anybody else for that matter, takes years of work and effort to be put into their craft.

The Miami Heat found Jimmy Buckets during the peak of his career and frankly, they won the jackpot. In 2020, the All-Star forward led the team to the finals during the first year of his contract. Despite being taken down by the LA Lakers, he was a favorite for the Finals MVP award averaging 26.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game.

Jimmy Butler gets sued by former manager for outstanding dues

In 2013, Jimmy Butler was under contract with the Chicago Bulls. He was managed by Independent Sports & Entertainment, the company that helped him manage his work dealings and all things business. The company and Butler agreed that he would give them 15% of his earnings towards their commission. According to his former manager, they did not receive any sort of commission they had agreed upon.
The former Eastern Conference Champion had signed a five-year with Nike, but he never paid the 15% share of what he earned to ISE. They sued him for a total of $842,500 and on top of that he owed them $750,000 from the bonuses he received from Nike during the first four-years of that deal. There has not been any conclusion to this issue yet however.
Jimmy Butler signs a multi-year deal with Li-Ning

Ever since the lawsuit had been pressed, Jimmy Butler had part ways with ISE and Nike. He signed a multi-yeat contract with the Chinese show company Li-Ning in 2020 following his first title run. In January 2022, he confirmed his logo for the signature shoe to be released under his name.
The 31-year old will also be under contract with the Heat until 2026. The contract is worth upto $184 million for four-years. Last season, he averaged 21.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game showing several explosive performances during the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Heat were taken down by the Boston Celtics during the Eastern Conferece Finals.
