Four years ago, NBA star Jimmy Butler made a revealing appearance on the popular YouTube channel “First We Feast.” During the episode, Butler recalled his unforgettable experience of meeting the legendary Michael Jordan for the first time. The encounter took place at the Michael Jordan Flight School in August 2015, and Butler’s recollection shed light on the interesting aspect of their meeting.
“In this particular photo he did win the shooting contest,” Jimmy Butler stated during the interview. Butler added, “He chose a kid, I chose a kid, but it’s his camp, so he knows what kids to choose, right? Like he saw the kids shoot and he saw, so I’m like, okay, cool. So in this particular one, he did win, but it didn’t show the other times that I actually won.”
Butler said, “That’s the thing that got me like all the video that came out is one of him just busting my a** with his kids, and I was just like, what about the other three times we played that me and the kid I picked actually won.”
Jimmy Butler’s candid remarks revealed a previously untold side of the encounter, highlighting the competitiveness and spirited nature of the event. The shooting contest, captured only partially on video, seemed to favor Jordan, as the announcer pointed to him after Butler’s final shot.
