If there is one player who gave Boston Celtics a hard-time in chasing their first NBA Finals berth since 2010, it was Jimmy Butler, who not only made his presence felt on the offensive end. But even halted the scoring of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. The 6x All-Star even managed to lead the scoring charts in clutch Game 7 at FTX Arena but unfortunately could not send his team to the NBA Finals.

Having scored game-high 35 points in Game 7, Jimmy Butler had the opportunity to close out the game with over 20 seconds remaining on the clock and his team being down by just 2 pointers. Having caught Boston Celtics on the break, Butler, who was the only scorer in-form for Erik Spoelstra, decided to fire a game-winning shot from downtown. However, he the ball bounced back hitting the rim, as the Heat lost 100-96. Take a video below-

But don’t let that particular highlight signify the performance of Heat’s marquee scorer in game 7. He was simply exceptional, finding his way to the rim and scoring against the big men of Boston Celtics. With Bam Adebayo also managing to score 25 points in Game 7, it seems like Heat were really haunted by the controversial 3-pointer of Max Strus being waved off.

This particular spoken off play happened in the early stages of the second half. Initially Max Strus’ shot was counted, bridging the gap to only 2-points. But was waived off after sometime, being checked by the refs. But clearly it seems like his heel never touched the ground. With stakes being so high, such small margins proved to be the difference maker.

On the other hand, Jaylen Brown too was exceptional as he once again led the scoring chart for Celtics with 26 points. While Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart added 24 points each.

Now battling against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals from June 2nd, will we witness Ime Udoka’s team making the greatest ever leap in NBA history. Will they be able to make Stephen Curry face the same fate to what KD, Butler and Giannis have witnessed so far.
