JJ Redick shut downed Stephen A. Smith who was appreciating Andrew Wiggins for his defensive greats on Luka Doncic during the western conference finals series. Which the Golden State Warriors won and advanced to the NBA finals as they now face the Boston Celtics but unfortunately fell on the losing end as the Celtics manhandled them in the fourth quarter. Before the game, Stephen A. Smith, Kendrick Perkins, and JJ Redick discussed the matchup on ESPN’s First Take and the fans got a moment to laugh at as Stephen A. Smith was destroyed by other analysts for appreciating Andrew Wiggins as a defender on Luka Doncic.
JJ Redick throughout his career as a player has never held himself back and the stretch continues in his career as an analyst too. As he destroyed Stephen A. Smith’s whole take by just speaking out a fact in the most savage way possible. Stephen A. Smith and many other analysts around have been hyping up Andrew Wiggins as a defender who was able to hold down Luka Doncic but that’s not true and JJ Redick isn’t riding with that fake fact. As the Slovenian All-Star point guard averaged 32 points per game in the western conference finals. So it’s not at all correct to say that the all-star starter from the Dubs did a phenomenal job while guarding him.
Maybe Andrew Wiggins was good but the numbers speak it out and claim that Luka Doncic was the better one and it was the team and their limitations who failed them. So JJ Redick who has always been a real one while talking about Luka Doncic was very quick to shut down Stephen A. Smith who believes Andrew Wiggins has done a good job.

Stephen A. Smith quoted: “I gotta also take into account the elevation of Andrew Wiggins during these playoffs, from a defensive standpoint. Particularly the job he did against Luka Doncic, even though Doncic got his, numbers-wise.” JJ Redick soon jumped in and said: “I knew you were going to bring this point up. I just want to be clear, Luka shot 51% against Andrew Wiggins when he was the primary defender…I’m just saying if I’m guarding someone and they’re shooting 51%, that’s good defense?….. No, I’m going to the bench if that happens. I can tell you that right now.”
Stephen A. Smith was just speechless listening to the reality as there’s no counter to it. But still, he kept explaining his point after JJ Redick manhandled his take on national TV and had Kendrick Perkins laughing out loud.
