If their league position doesn’t impress you, maybe their coach Joe Mazzulla’s inspiration would. In a recent interview, Mazzulla admitted Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola is the inspiration behind his coaching and playing style.
He further admitted that Guardiola has added more insight to his knowledge of the sport. Mazzulla said,

Joe has nothing but respect for the well-decorated manager who has been dominating English football for quite a while.
Pep Guardiola’s playing style of possession-based, pressing, positional play, and attacking football has been a huge success for the blue side of Manchester, winning league titles, domestic cups, and recently, for the first time in their history, the Champions League trophy. And given his students, i.e., ex-players in the likes of Xavi, Mikel Arteta, and Xabi Alonso who have made their teacher proud by taking the managerial role to another level at their respective clubs, there are hints that the same magic could be bestowed upon Joe and his team.
Boston Celtics, who sit at the top of the Eastern Conference, has been a dynamic force to be not messed with. The team is equally brilliant in both defense and offense. And with their head coach admitting to having huge respect for one of soccer’s greatest managers and following his styles, fans have been worried about whether it could be Celtics year.
