There is no denying that one of the most well-known athletes in the world is Michael Jordan. His influence on basketball is still evident in the NBA stars’ contracts and endorsement deals today. Consequently, it should come as no surprise that he remains a topic of discussion for both fans and the media, with many attempting to decipher the secret to his success.
During his interview on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, rapper Killer Mike discussed the legendary Chicago Bulls player and clarified that Michael Jordan’s brother Larry Jordan should be credited for his success. He described how the “Fadway Shoot” technique was made possible for him by his brother.
Killer Mike said:
How many times have you seen Mike do that to another player? Watch this. Wow, Kobe took that same technique and punished mfers
Joe Rogan replied by saying:
That's a great sparring partner. That's a great sparring, yeah.
As seen in the video, Larry Jordan was doing the fadeaway shot and Mike explained that Michael got that from his brother. Joe mentioned Kobe Bryant’s name as he also took the same technique that Michael did.
Larry might have had Jordan’s brothers running the league if he had been a few inches taller. His brother, however, punished him for years. Larry had incredible physical attributes that allowed him to dominate players through high school, despite his small stature of 5’8″. He had an amazing 44-inch vertical.
Michael Jordan once humiliated Larry Jordan
Michael Jordan was an extremely competitive sportsman. Even in his youth especially if it was with his sibling. He once told his older brother to check himself, one of the many times in his youth and he made fun of him in a manner akin to bullying.
Larry Jordon spoke to Sports Illustrated in 1991 and said,
We grew up one-on-one, But the last time we competed, he just looked down at my feet, ‘Remember whose name is on your shoes.'
The story outlines how he used to play one-on-one games all the time with his brother Larry. When he was younger, Larry liked to dunk on him. And he grew a foot one summer because he was so irritated! They continued to play a lot of 1 v 1s as they got older despite the variations in height. It was typical of Michael to show his brother where he belonged. Larry felt shaken up. Fortunately, though, it was all sibling talk.
