Joel Embiid to give James Harden the ULTIMATE backstab? Western Conference team lines up potential trade for reigning MVP
Joel Embiid may force his way out of Philadelphia 76ers only to pair up with the team James Harden initially was linked with.

James Harden is least interested to rep the Philadelphia 76ers or any other organization which has the services of Daryl Morey. Recently while touring for Adidas in China he called out the Sixers’ President of Basketball Operations, Daryl Morey a liar and ripped him apart. This time James Harden has a reason for bouncing off the grind as he got clowned by the front office, they didn’t offer him a long-term maximum extension after he took a pay cut for the team. And, now are forcing him to stay in Philly. But all this drama is wasting Joel Embiid’s prime.
The league MVP, Joel’s duo with the former MVP, Harden never really lived up to the expectations and now may end soon. As the disappointing duo is collectively hinting toward an exit from the Philadelphia 76ers. James Harden is on a public holdout and making things super uncomfortable for the franchise to force his way out. And, after his comments against Daryl Morey even Joel Embiid joined the drama. As he changed his Twitter/X profile photo. He also removed “PROCESSING…” from his bio and even the location: “Philadelphia, PA” is gone.
This is a huge step hinting towards Embiid demanding a trade too. And, if he does or has already done the Sixers would have to respect it. As the franchise has never been able to help him with a stable guard or a support system to keep thriving. Ben Simmons clowned the team and forced his way out and now Harden is on the same track. All of this has just delayed Joel’s success. So him requesting a trade out makes sense and some teams are sitting ready to land the MVP all-star center.
The New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets have emerged as two of the best suitors for landing the MVP. But the Sixers shipping their man to a team in their conference won’t be a smart move. So the Houston Rockets can bag Joel Embiid if he’s ever available on the market.
Kelly Iko of The Athletic recently revealed how the relationship between HC Ime Udoka and Joel Embiid, can help the Rockets get him onboard. Ime even attended Embiid’s wedding recently and in the past has even coached him during his time as an assistant coach with the Sixers. Also, let us not forget that Harden initially wanted to reunite with the Rockets and now Embiid can clown him by doing so.
The Houston Rockets though can’t land Joel Embiid anytime soon even if they want to. As they’ll have to wait until their wave of 2023 offseason signings becomes trade eligible. As matching salaries won’t be possible for them. And, even the Sixers won’t let them have an easy road and demand the maximum trade value in exchange for Joel Embiid. As their expectations for trade around James Harden portray. But if they end up losing the superstar duo, they may start a rebuild and try to get a lot of picks and draft capital in exchange.
Joel Embiid’s future plans with the Philadelphia 76ers
The fans in Philly love Joel Embiid unconditionally. But the talented star is now valuing success over love. A month ago during an interview with Maverick Carter at the first Uninterrupted Film Festival held in Los Angeles, he was questioned about his future goals. And, surprisingly those weren’t just limited to hooping for the Philadelphia 76ers.
As Joel quoted: “I just wanna win a championship, whatever it takes. I don’t know where that’s gonna be, whether that’s in Philly or anywhere else. I just wanna have a chance to accomplish… You’ve got to have good people around you, and myself, every single day.” Him mentioning “anywhere else” didn’t sit well with the Sixers fans and they even called him out for it.
Joel Embiid though replying to them sent out an interesting and unexpected take. In a tweet of his, he wrote: “Buddy Check my middle name.” Joel Embiid’s middle name on Twitter/X is “Troel” and he’s undoubtedly one of the biggest trolls in the league. So with the tweet, he reassured the fans by claiming that the comment to just be a troll. But now the situation around him and the franchise due to James Harden may mark his end in Philadelphia.
