“He looks like he’s at playoff level!” Joel Embiid’s return after surgery surprises Skip Bayless

Joel Embiid is back after missing a chunk of the season due to undergoing surgery, and his performance in the two games since his return made veteran TV analyst Skip Bayless give him his flowers. Speaking on the “Undisputed,” Bayless was utterly astonished by Embiid as he kept praising him on the show.

Skip Bayless asserted that he didn’t expect the reigning MVP to come back strong as he has done so far. He went on to say that he wrote the Philadelphia 76ers off as he had only expected Embiid to slow them down. Going by what he has seen so far, ‘The Process’ looks ready to take his team far into the playoffs.

I am astonished by what Joel Embiid is doing coming off surgery. It was eight weeks ago, and I had no idea. I did not see this coming... I thought he walked back into this game and played like 10 mins 12 minutes and tried to get back for the playoffs; he looks like he's at playoffs level right now.

Joel Embiid, since returning from surgery, has played like he never left, averaging 26.5 points in the two games he has played in both wins for his team. He has demonstrated authentic leadership by proving he has what it takes to carry the 76ers.

Furthermore, with their three-game winning streak intact, they’re on course to secure the sixth seed spot in their conference currently occupied by the Indiana Pacers. And with their star player back and firing on all cylinders, they stand a good chance.

Joel Embiid is not bothered about MVP crown

Joel Embiid, after the win against the Miami Heat, said he’s happy not to be in the MVP conversation due to it becoming toxic. He isn’t eligible for the awards this season due to his lengthy injury layoff. He was initially running neck-to-neck with current favorite, Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic.

Embiid suffered a terrible meniscus injury in which he missed 29 games, and in the process, the NBA new 65-game rule for eligibility for the regular season awards. Last season, he came out victorious easily over the Nuggets’ Serbian star.

However, his plan has to be to take the 76ers far into the postseason and hopefully earn himself a place in the record books by leading the 76ers to an NBA title. The Process this season is averaging 34.8 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game.
