Joel Embiid is not satisfied with just being an All-Star. He wants to be a champion. And he is willing to do whatever it takes to get there, even if that means leaving the Philadelphia 76ers. In a recent video, Embiid expressed his frustration and hinted at his possible departure from Philly. This is the first time that Embiid has publicly voiced his desire to play elsewhere, sparking speculation among fans and analysts about his future.

I just want to win a championship, whatever it takes…whether it’s in Philly or somewhere else,” is what the star had to say in the video. This left many Sixers fans dismayed over his statement. This video might also hint at potential trade requests coming from Embiid. Of course, without him in the team, the Sixers will stand no chance unless they trade another superstar, hence the dismay.

In the second part after this, saying the championship part, he continues, “I wanna see what it feels like.” He highlights the importance of a good team and says, “It takes more than one, two or three guys. You gotta have good people around you.”

Joel Embiid has reached the point where he has started to retrospect and think about how this roster might not be good enough for him to win a ring. While speculations have already begun on whose fault it might be, it still is very early to conclude. However, as some people have already noticed, this is the first time he has not gone along the lines of “I gotta be better” but “I gotta have better people around me,” and it might hint at him pointing fingers.

As James Harden also hints at leaving the Sixers and forming a superteam with Los Angeles Lakers, the Sixers fans might not be happy with this clip as the team’s core might be broken off before the season starts. Whether or not we and the fans like it, the Embiid trade rumors ball has been rolled down the hill.

As Kendrick Perkins pointed out, Damian Lillard might be interested in pairing up with Embiid at the Sixers. That trade seems highly unlikely, as Lillard wants to go with the Miami Heat. We will soon know about it as the trade deadline is fast approaching. Till then, all the fans of the Sixers will be hoping that the staff somehow convinces Embiid to stay and eye for another ring here itself.
