One of the most compelling rivalries in the league right now is between Joel Embiid and Kevin Durant. Both players are fiercely competitive and go after each other every time the Philadelphia Sixers play the Brooklyn Nets. Fans got what they wanted, a Joel Embiid vs. Kevin Durant matchup and even with Durant sidelined due to an injury (knee).

Joel Embiid’s celebration, in the opinion of Kevin Durant, who has been sidelined for weeks due to an MCL sprain, was inappropriate. Joel Embiid’s celebration was instantly called “trash” by Durant in a tweet. The huge Man then retaliated against him with the ideal response.

Inevitably, Joel Embiid responded to the tweet on Twitter. A reference to DX’s tagline from ’90s pro wrestling, Joel Embiid cited Durant’s tweet and replied with the #suckit. He also sent an edited video of himself performing crotch chops over DX’s theme tune and entrance video.

The 76ers held on to defeat the Brooklyn Nets 137-133 at the Wells Fargo Center in a playoff-like atmosphere. The 76ers increased their winning streak to six games thanks to outstanding performances from Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and James Harden.

Maxey led the squad in scoring with 27 points in just 30 minutes of play. This was followed by Joel Embiid with 26 points and 10 rebounds and Harden with 23 points and seven assists. Before being benched late in the game, Ben Simmons finished with 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Nic Claxton finished with an impressive double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. While Kyrie Irving led the Brooklyn Nets with 30 points and 10 assists. With 32 points off the bench, Seth Curry was the top scorer overall.

In two of their four games so far this season versus the Nets, the Sixers are currently unbeaten. The following two games between these teams on February 11 and April 9 at Barclays Center will be played in Brooklyn. Without Kevin Durant, the Nets have dropped to 29-18 and have dropped five of their last seven games. On the other hand, Philadelphia has won six in a row and is seeded second in the eastern conference.
