The 76ers might not realize it, but the antics they are pulling off to make Harden stay in Philly and not trade him as soon as possible might have larger consequences if not dealt with smoothly.
Joel Embiid, their franchise player, has previously gone through a fiasco where he had to deal with a player not willing to play for the team, losing a season of his career when he could have contended for a championship. It will undoubtedly be a surprise if Embiid requests a trade, given the fact that he has stated multiple times how much he loves the 76ers and the city of Philadelphia and is grateful for all the support he has received from the fans throughout his career.
