Joel Embiid, the superstar center for the Philadelphia 76ers has been hampered by an injury for a greater part of the new NBA season. Embiid has chosen to play through the injury difficulties despite this in an attempt to support Philadelphia in getting out of their early-season decline.

It’s not often that you can claim to have witnessed one of the greatest individual performances in NBA history but Embiid had the chance to accomplish just that tonight against the Jazz. Embiid, one of the most dominant centers in NBA history in recent times exploded for an extraordinary performance that was one for the ages.

Joel Embiid spent 37 minutes on the court and recorded 59 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and seven blocked shots. The first player in NBA history to record at least 50 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five blocks in a single contest is Embiid (since blocks became official in 1973-74). He set a career-high in both points and blocks and made 20 of 24 free throws while shooting 19 of 28 from the field. Embiid scored 42 points in the victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday which totals 101 points in two nights.

Fans react to Joel Embiid’s ‘once in a life-time’ outing

Joel Embiid decided to show everyone why he is one of the best in the world by lifting this team to a win without James Harden with one of the most unbelievable displays we have ever witnessed in a tough matchup for the Philadelphia 76ers. This season, he has been under fire for the 76ers’ slow start and initial problems, but he was able to disprove those claims with these two back-to-back performances.

This is how the fans on Twitter reacted to JoJo’s historical outing:

Embiid’s last two performances have put him firmly in the running for MVP in the 2022–23 season and the 76ers have done an excellent job of leveling their record at 7-7. He was included in the early part of the season favorites for the MVP trophy but had an extremely slow start to the season and he now appears to be in shape again. The Sixers will take some time off before playing again on Friday against the Milwaukee Bucks, giving Embiid some much-needed rest.
