“We was tryna lose on purpose,” John Wall reveals SECRET behind Houston Rockets’ decline following 2019-20 season

Considering how long he had been away from the game, Los Angeles Clippers star John Wall was having a decent season despite coming from a very significant mental health crisis. This year, Wall has averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 assists, and 40.7% shooting in 22.2 minutes per game.

Wall doesn’t recall his 18-month stay with the Houston Rockets with much fondness. Guard John Wall, who is currently with the Los Angeles Clippers, was honest in the discussion of his time in Houston on the Run Your Race podcast. “My first year in Houston, we were tanking,” Wall said. “We lost 20 in a row. We were trying to lose on purpose… tanking.”

In 2020–21, Wall played in 40 games, but with James Harden no longer remaining, the team’s interests weren’t quite in line with those of the star point guard. With Harden gone, Wall criticized the Rockets for purposefully fielding a subpar team in an effort to secure high lottery picks in the future.

After a disastrous 17-55 year, Houston was able to pick Jalen Green as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Wall believes that Houston’s losing mentality is harming its key players, especially Green and Kevin Porter Jr. “I would tell them don’t get adjusted to this losing sh*t,” Wall said. “It’s a bad organization right now. They’ve got to fix some sh*t.”

John Wall out for at least 2 weeks with an abdominal injury

After suffering the abdomen injury during the Clippers’ 115-103 loss to the Denver Nuggets, Wall won’t be reevaluated for another two weeks. After he slammed down a spectacular dunk in the fourth quarter, Wall felt something in his abdomen.

“I haven’t jumped like that when somebody contested me in probably like three years, to be honest,” said Wall, who has been in and out of the squad in his previous three seasons. He even said,“I think I just stretched it as much as I could when I dunked it.”

Wall has averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 assists, and 40.7% shooting in 22.2 minutes per game this season.“Kind of tried to find a rhythm,” Wall said, “And then also [my] minutes [restriction] moved up, so it’s definitely frustrating for sure.” wall had a career-high 16 points and 7 rebounds in the game against the Denver Nuggets.
