Christmas Day shooting woes for Stephen Curry continued on Monday as he finished with just eight points and a 120-114 road loss to the Denver Nuggets, who outscored the Golden State Warriors by 26 points while the two-time NBA MVP was on the court. Even though Jonathan Kuminga was almost always the bench player, he managed to play a few minutes today and seemed to be as unbeatable as he had claimed after the game.
To give the Golden State Warriors another playmaker, Steve Kerr is willing to experiment with different lineup combinations. Despite playing more minutes than Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins is having the worst season. Kuminga is understandably annoyed because he didn’t know why he was benched so frequently during the Christmas game against the Denver Nuggets. Despite this, he upheld his standards through words showing some of his abilities.
Jonathan Kuminga said:
I’ma keep it real with you. Me with the ball, nobody guarding me.
Jonathan Kumiga to The Athletic
It was obvious that The Nuggets couldn’t stop him, especially given how they were stopping Stephen Curry. Kuminga had 13 points through three quarters on 4 of 8 shots. He had the Nuggets reeling after going 5-for-8 from the free-throw line.
With 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, and just one turnover on 4-of-8 shooting from the field in the defeat, Kuminga accomplished some of those unique things. Nevertheless, off the bench, Andrew Wiggins was spot on, scoring a team-high 22 points on 7 of 11 shots.
Fans react to Jonathan Kuminga’s commitment to his playstyle
Jonathan Kuminga, the seventh pick in the 2021 NBA draft, has been steadily rising to superstar status during his third season. Despite a few minor injuries that have bothered him this season, Kuminga is averaging 12 points in just over 20 minutes per game. He’s also becoming one of the team’s more dependable defensive players. However, his post-game remarks made headlines that were largely critical of him.
Kuminga received a lot of attention for his remark that he had the ball and no one could guard him. He hasn’t played enough for the team, so the supporters and public are making fun of him for uttering those remarks. He’s constantly being benched and getting trolling advice from people telling him to pass the ball to Stephen Curry. Continue reading below to get more responses.
Although Kuminga’s numbers and minutes aren’t rising as quickly as he had hoped, he is aware that perseverance and practice are still essential for success and resilience in the NBA.
