The incident between Jordan Poole and Draymond Green, where Green punched Poole during last year’s training camp, continues to generate media attention and intrigue among fans, even after more than 9 months. Recently, Green addressed the incident during an appearance on the Pat Bev podcast, where he was questioned about his actions. In response, he argued that he doesn’t have a habit of hitting people and further attempted to justify his actions.

Upon seeing the clip of Draymond’s response, Poole’s father was enraged and said that Draymond hadn’t apologized to him or Poole’s mother and that he had been avoiding him for an entire year. In his typical fashion, Draymond retorted that he had not been avoiding him and further advised him not to say anything that might not go well for him.

Unlike Draymond Green, who has addressed the incident multiple times, Jordan Poole has typically avoided talking about it. However, this time, he broke his silence by posting a quote from Gunna’s song ‘Bottom’ on his Instagram. He wrote lyrics such as “Talk of the topic” and “Find a hobby,” possibly suggesting that Green was overly fixated on him and should find other things to occupy his mind instead of dwelling on the past altercation.

The leaking of the video showing Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole during a training camp incident sparked anger throughout the NBA community. Many fans and observers demanded that Green be suspended, particularly to prevent him from attending the ring night celebration. However, the Warriors organization faced significant criticism when they only suspended Green for a couple of pre-season games.

Fans have been waiting for a formal apology from Green’s side since the incident happened, but fair to say he has done everything except apologize. During his recent appearance on the Pat Bev podcast, he attempted to justify why he hit Poole, claiming it wasn’t an instantaneous reaction but rather the result of a dialogue that occurred.

“I don’t just hit people,” he said. “Dialogue happens over time and you usually ain’t triggered by something that fastWe know stuff you don’t say amongst men. We know things that you have to stand on,” he added.

This drew severe criticism because, shortly after the incident, Green released a mini-documentary-style video where he seemed apologetic. Now, nine months later, he is trying to justify his actions, leaving fans disappointed and skeptical of his true intentions.

As a consequence of the incident, Jordan Poole got traded during the off-season to the Wizards in exchange for another player he doesn’t like, Chris Paul. However, this trade might allow Poole to take the next leap in Washington and become the star player that many fans expect him to be.
