The LA Lakers were resolute in their recent game against the New York Knicks, bringing an end to what was a 9-game winning streak for their opponents. LeBron James, who has recently been linked to the franchise, again played a starring role, and top-scored for his team with 22 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds.

Regardless, the 113-105 victory saw a hilarious moment involving James and Josh Hart, primarily the latter. Hart found himself in a hilarious exchange with the referee at the Madison Square Garden. After a foul on LeBron James, he initially squared up to the referee, before accusing him of possessing X-ray vision.

Referee JB DeRosa initially seemed offended, as the exchange was caught on the in-game mic. The incident took place during the second quarter, as Hart had initially shoved LeBron, leading to the call. Josh Hart could be heard saying:

There’s no way you could see that unless you have X-ray vision. I’m going to stand here and say I pushed him, and it was a great call. But I’m just saying, you couldn’t see that!

The light-hearted banter led to a range of reactions from fans. Hart’s acknowledgment of the foul was hilarious and came amidst accusations of the ref actually not having seen the exchange.

Lakers snap Knicks’ winning streak in expert fashion

The Lakers managed to halt the Knicks’ nine-game win streak with a 113-105 victory, and produced a dominant defensive display, especially in the fourth quarter. Anthony Davis played a pivotal role with his rebounding and defensive prowess, contributing 18 boards and 5 blocks.

The Knicks faced challenges in the paint, shooting 27-of-55, and saw LeBron James fan Jalen Brunson finish with an impressive 36 points and 10 assists. The Lakers’ decision to double-team Brunson showed that LeBron and company were more than aware of his threat.

Regardless, the win came at a cost. The Lakers faced additional challenges with the potential season-ending loss of defensive standout Jarred Vanderbilt, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Despite these setbacks, the team was resilient and came up trumps against a strong team that has been in rampant form of late.
