Kareem Abdul Jabbar and former professional Tennis player John McEnroe have made it to the sports world headlines and the reason is Novak Djokovic and his opinion on vaccination. Djoker has made up his mind and is sticking with the same decision of not getting vaccinated but because of that he now has to pay a price and he is willingly doing that. As he is not vaccinated he isn’t allowed to travel to the United States of America so he had to withdraw from the 22 US Open. This has really divided the sports world as some stand with him and many stand against him.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar and John McEnroe are also on that list and have different opinions for the Wimbledon champion who remains unvaccinated and is losing some serious business out there even in the G.O.A.T conversation. John McEnroe though stands in the support of Novak. As he believes the vaccine policy in the United States of America is just robbing him and that’s pretty unfair. Kareem Abdul Jabbar though is having no part of it as he bashed the former tennis player for showing out his support for Nole.
This isn’t the first time Kareem Abdul Jabbar is making his way to the sports headlines for bashing an athlete from any sports regarding COVID-19 vaccination. As earlier he has criticized Aaron Rodgers and Kyrie Irving too. As both of them are also unvaccinated global stars. And, Kareem isn’t a fan of them or either their decisions. So him going off on all such athletes who are just riding with their opinions and have all the right to do so is wrong in many eyes but is very expected.
John McEnroe came out to show his love and support for Novak Djokovic and Kareem Abdul Jabbar did a very good job in shutting him down. The former tennis star called Novaks’ move “gutsy” and criticized the tournament for their policies and rule. As he labeled those as “bullsh*t” and now is getting trolled, criticized and questioned for his support.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar slamming John McEnroe for his support towards unvaccinated Novak Djokovic wrote: “While McEnroe worries about Djokovic’s career, he doesn’t worry about the fact that Djokovic knowingly mingled with the public when he knew he was infected with the virus. How much illness and possibly even deaths was he responsible for? What about the careers…not to mention health and lives…of people Djokovic could come in contact with in America… Yeah, I’m not concerned one bit about multimillionaire Djokovic’s career.”
Kareem Abdul Jabbar is not all wrong with his take on both the stars and especially Novak Djokovic. But the situation now is changed and the tennis star is ready to get tested every single day. So keeping him out when his career is at such a greater turn with good competition in the market just because he has made some personal choices is unfair. But again, the guy who mastered the sky hook cares the least about Nole’s career.
