“You are a LIAR” Kareem Abdul Jabbar trashed Aaron Rodgers for ‘Harming Professional Sports’
Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Aaron Rodgers
Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Aaron Rodgers are back in the NBA headlines, both of them undoubtedly are all-time greats in their particular game. One dominated the hardwood back in the days and one is still on the green field proving to the world how great he is. The reason they both have made their way back onto the heated discussion table is the vaccine controversy Aaron Rodgers was and is still a part of. Last year he lied about his vaccination status and got heavily criticized for it by everyone wise around. Kareem Abdul Jabbar though fired a straight shot at him last year itself for his dishonest claim and now it all has resurfaced.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar called out Aaron Rodgers as a liar for his false claim of being vaccinated and immunized. But later he got infected with the virus and it was all revealed. He never got vaccinated instead used some other sought of treatment and just lied to the world and around. This didn’t age well with Kareem Abdul Jabbar and many around. As what Rodgers did was really wrong and dangerous not only for him but for everyone around him. So Kareem Abdul Jabbar like always stood up against it by ripping him apart with a critical article of his. He did a pretty good job writing down about the very wrong action of the Green Bay Packers QB.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar calls out Aaron Rodgers as a liar for his vaccination drama
Kareem Abdul Jabbar last year in an article of his talking about the vaccination drama of Aaron Rodgers as he lied about being immunized. The NBA legend criticizing and ripping him apart wrote: “That latest egregious abuser is Green Bay quarterback and three-time MVP Aaron Rodgers who directly and deliberately lied to fans and the public when he assured everyone he was “immunized,” knowing that word would be interpreted as his being vaccinated. He wasn’t vaccinated. And he got COVID-19. And he went maskless during in-person press conferences, which not only violated NFL rules, but put everyone else’s health at risk…”
Further, Kareem Abdul Jabbar also wrote: “What’s especially bothersome is that Aaron Rodgers didn’t just lie and threaten the health of those around him, he also damaged professional sports. Many athletes make a lot of money on product endorsements, which depends on the public’s favorable perception of athletes. In 2020, global sports sponsorship was worth about $57 billion. Yet, every time a pro athlete like Kyrie Irving (anti-vax), Henry Ruggs (speeding at 156 mph, crashing, and killing someone), Evander Kane (forging vaccination card), or Aaron Rodgers does or says something stupid, the public trust in athletes lowers and sponsors might consider avoiding players in favor of actors, pop stars, or social media influencers… “
Kareem Abdul Jabbar was not at all wrong with his words as he even gave out some examples of other athletes from different sports backgrounds like Kyrie Irving to make his point clear while explaining how that was very unprofessional. He is also very right as he mentions how everyone’s life who was around him was under threat. Aaron Rodgers has been criticized a lot in the recent years such controversies are a big part of that well-deserved criticism. But unsuccessful playoff runs with the team due to not many right pieces around also have him under the bus. So this year he’ll try his best to leave all such stories back in the past and dominate again with a fresh start.
