In the illustrious history of the Utah Jazz, Karl Malone and John Stockton stand out as the two greatest players. The Jazz drafted Stockton in the 1984 draft, followed by Malone in the 1985 draft. Renowned as one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history, Malone forged an impressive partnership with teammate John Stockton. Stockton, esteemed as one of the greatest point guards and passers in basketball history, was an integral part of the dynamic duo.

When the Utah Jazz unveiled plans for an exclusive sit-down interview featuring two of their all-time greats, it stirred discontent among fans concerned about the duo’s checkered history.

During 2021, Stockton took center stage in a video series titled “V-Revealed, COVID Edition,” where he cast doubt on the COVID-19 pandemic and issued warnings against vaccines. In a controversial claim, he asserted that “hundreds” of athletes had succumbed to the effects of the COVID vaccine, a statement later debunked by PolitiFact as false.

Despite Stockton’s insistence on having conducted a “significant amount of research,” his views raised eyebrows and ignited discussions about misinformation surrounding the pandemic:

This isn't a virus cheating us of these opportunities. It's the guys making decisions saying, 'No, no, we're too scared. We're going to shut everything down.'

On a different note, Malone faces accusations of rape involving allegations that he impregnated a 13-year-old girl during his college days, before even entering the NBA.

Fans react to Utah Jazz’s actions

The Utah Jazz of the NBA has chosen to ignore public opinion to go ahead with the scheduled interview with two of their greatest players, despite their concerning pasts.

Despite the negative PR surrounding the former duo, Malone secured two NBA Most Valuable Player awards, earning distinction as a 14-time NBA All-Star and an 11-time All-NBA first-team member. His impressive career amassed 36,928 points, ranking third in NBA history, surpassed only by LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. In contrast, Stockton, a ten-time NBA All-Star, dominates NBA records with substantial leads in career assists and steals.
