Even in his heyday, Utah Jazz icon Karl Malone couldn’t stay out of trouble. While being in college, he got a 13-year-old pregnant. Malone went on to become one of the best NBA players of all time but he had to deal with many legal repercussions and statutory r*pe allegations.
As an NBA legend and multiple-time All-Star, Karl Malone enjoys an immaculate reputation. For a long time, Malone’s sole criticism came from his failure to lead the Utah Jazz to a championship, but there is a more dangerous aspect of his background that has been mostly overlooked.
At Louisiana Tech, Malone bizarrely got a 13-year-old girl pregnant when he was just 20. To make things worse, he also abandoned the kid. Malone was a collegiate basketball standout who had a child with Gloria Bell, whose son, Demetress Bell, was a former NFL star.
In response to the news resurfacing as a consequence of Malone declining a position in the documentary “Last Dance” his son, KJ Malone, pleaded with people to leave his family alone.

From 1982 until 1985, Malone attended the Louisiana Tech University where he was a standout player. Gloria Bell, 13, is said to have become pregnant when Malone was there. He was 20 years old when Bell gave birth to their son Demetress in 1984.
In 1986, Gloria’s parents filed a paternity suit against Malone, but he was never arrested or made to bear any legal expenses. A few years later, Malone and Bell’s family reached an understanding arrangement. Malone refused to be involved with Bell after the birth of his son, and the two didn’t meet until Demetress was 17 years old. The child grew up and eventually played for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.
Karl Malone has never discussed Gloria and Demetress Bell in public. He wants to keep that aspect of his life private, and he mostly succeeded in doing so. He went on to have one of the best basketball careers that we have ever witnessed, and he never had to respond to prompts about his former family at any point. He is now married to Kay Kinsey and has a son, KJ Malone.
