“Thankyou for making us happy” Kawhi Leonard spotted getting buckets and spreading happiness in Dominican Republic

Kawhi Leonard, the hero behind Toronto Raptors 2019 NBA Title, missed the entire 2021-22 NBA season after undergoing surgery for his ACL injury. The Clippers missed the playoffs, losing back-to-back games in the play-in tournament. As soon as Kawhi put up a new commercial with his sponsor , ‘New Balance’, Los Angeles Clippers had a poor 2021-22 season. They were not able to make it to the Playoffs. The two-time Finals MVP was seen beaming and shooting hoops with some children during a trip to the Dominican Republic.

The reason was not because the lacked the talented players to get there. They have Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, but both of them have been suffering from important injuries in recent years. Paul George, who did play many games this season was nowhere near as what the Clippers fans expected from an All-Star. On the other hand, Kawhi Leonard, who has been debated amongst the most influential NBA players of the last decade was injured due to an ACL injury that kept him off the court for the entirety of the season.

When he is at his best, ‘The Claw’ is virtually unstoppable on the court. No defender in the NBA can tame the Kawhi-storm and he too realizes how important he is to his team and to the league. Back in 2021 playoffs, Kawhi Leonard suffered a fractured ACL but that has kept him away from the game for too long.

With no social media activity, Kawhi is typically out of the news until basketball season begins again. While his latest sighting in the Dominican Republic is not exactly news, it does give fans a look into what he’s up to as the summer starts to pick up. The meet-up was tweeted by Jatnna Rodriguez, who works for a baseball organization in the Dominican Republic called Toros Del Este. While it is unclear what Kawhi was initially in the Dominican Republic for, it certainly had to be a treat for these young hoopers to shoot around with one of the game’s best players.

As the league has been searching for the next great who will be Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant of the league, we often forget the importance and impact that Kawhi Leonard has had in the NBA over recent years. When we discuss about a ultimate clutch player who can deliver when he time needs him to, Kawhi will most certainly will be in the discussion. He also has made a name for himself by rarely being injured, adding already a plus to his portfolio.

 He has already bagged two NBA Finals MVP trophies, an achievement and honor very few players in NBA history have. Kawhi is the winning lottery ticket for the Clippers, but he had struggled a little more than previously anticipated and thereby delayed his return to the game. But, it took the Clippers only a couple of photos to hype everybody in the league up about his much anticipated return next season.

The LA Clippers will arguably have one of the strongest and deepest rosters in the NBA next season. The return of Kawhi Leonard, a healthy Paul George and a bevy of elite role players like Norman Powell, Marcus Morris and Reggie Jackson, among others, bolsters their chances of winning their first NBA championship.
