Kawhi Leonard
Kawhi Leonard is back on the courts that he dominated a few years ago before joining the Los Angeles Clippers. The player has suffered a couple of unfortunate injuries during his career. One of them had him traded away losing the opportunity to become the next face of the San Antonio Spurs franchise. He made it extremely clear that he still holds a grudge against the team that gave up on him during a Clippers press conference.
A video uploaded on Twitter showed the former 2x Finals MVP highlighting his journey through rehabilitation which caused him to miss out on the entire 2021-22 season. “I mean similarity is just like I missed the year pretty much. Same thing here, coming back trying to get it restarted again and getting refreshed… You know from me getting traded to one team to another and how that rehab process went for me.”
He continued to appreciate the Clippers organization for patiently awaiting his return to the hardwood floors. “It’s been very different this time going through that. You know having the team behind my back. Moving forward they want what’s best for me.” It is very evident he is still upset over the Spurs for letting him go.
In 2018, he was shockingly traded by San Antonio to the Toronto Raptors. There he averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game eventually leading them to the NBA Finals that year. The Raptors were underdogs compared to their title-defending opponents. But the Klaw’s persistent mind and dominance that year were unbeatable.

Kawhi Leonard has been with the LA Clippers for two seasons. Everything looked promising during the 2021 playoffs while he averaged 30.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Unfortunately, his ACL gave out during the Western Conference Semifinals against the Utah Jazz. Despite appearing in the WC Finals, Leonard’s absence trembled them.
He is set to make his official season debut against franchise rivals the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. During his preseason debut, the tallied 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists with a minutes restriction. As the season unfolds, Kawhi will blend in with Paul George and their partially new point guard John Wall.
