Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has spoken out against claims that he and teammate LeBron James do not have a strong relationship. In an interview with ESPN, Davis stated that he believes they have “one of the best relationships I think in the NBA as far as duos or teammates, regardless.” He went on to explain that the public does not see the off-court time they spend together, which contributes to their bond.
James also posted a video on Instagram showing a positive interaction between the two players during the Lakers’ recent victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The video was directed at a “Non Believer” and seemed to be a response to rumors about their relationship.
“To A Non Believer!!!! YEAAAAAHHHH WOE!! We hear all the chatter going on behind our backs but then they wanna smile in our faces when they see us!! ??????. Man BEAT IT!! Keep cooking they a**es 〰️ ! ?????” LeBron James wrote in his Instagram post.
This is not the first time rumors have circulated about the relationship between James and Davis. In February, Davis was seen sitting on the bench while James broke the NBA’s all-time leading scorer record. This moment sparked speculation about their dynamic, but Davis explained that his reaction was simply due to frustration with the game.
Despite these rumors, Davis and James have both tried to dispel any notions of tension between them. As the Lakers push for a playoff spot, their relationship will undoubtedly continue to be scrutinized by fans and media alike.
Lakers aim for playoff spot as LeBron James works towards return
