James is on the threshold of the final year in the ongoing deal, which is worth $44.5 million. And now, extending the contract for more than one year will fetch him a whopping $97.1 million fortune. This contract made history as it surpassed the deal of Brooklynn Nets’ Kevin Durant, who was given assurance money of $53.2 million.

This deal almost confirmed that the star forward would retire as a LA Lakers player. With growing age, many professional athletes fail to furnish at the end-stage of their careers, not only in basketball but in other major sports as well, which are played worldwide. Former players like Michael Jordon or Kobe Bryant also had to face a similar situation where they were comparatively slower. They cannot perform as high as other younger players on the team.

But when it comes to LeBron, the 37-year-old hasn’t lost form. He has aged like fine wine where his records speak for him. LeBron averaged 30.3 points, 6.2 assists, and 8.2 rebounds last season. And the last time he had such an average was way back in 2007 while playing for San Antonio Spurs when he was just 23 years old.

LeBron is on the verge of entering the 20th year of his playing career, and very few athletes have been able to play for this long time. He might even break a few records predominantly, he must score around 1326 points to dethrone Kareem Abdul Jabbar from the top spot in the all-time scoring list.
