“No Superstars which means no egos” Kendrick Perkins appreciates the CULTURE and ‘young veterans’ of Utah Jazz
Kendrick Perkins
Kendrick Perkins is back in the NBA headlines and again the reason is a take from his side. Just like the past season, the analyst has again shown out his love and support for an underdog team. And, this time it is Utah Jazz. Not many would have expected this but Jazz are really having an unreal run since parting ways with their superstars and initiating a rebuild program. Kendrick Perkins though is happy with the team and is riding along their culture as he recently tweeted.
The Los Angeles Clippers recently hosted the Utah Jazz at Crypto.com Arena. The Jazz were looking good since the very first whistle and eventually, they took control over the game and got the dub at 110-102. As of now, they are ranked as the second-best team in the western conference with a record of 8-3. Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson led the charge on the offensive end and got the job done.
Kendrick Perkins after the game ended sent out an appreciative tweet for the Utah Jazz. In the tweet, he wrote: “This Utah Jazz team Is everything that a first year Head Coach could want!!! No Superstars which means no egos…. just a lot of young veterans that want to show the world what the are capable of doing and that they can play winning basketball. Carry on…”
Kendrick Perkins is very right with his tweet. He has also taken a dig at the former superstars of the team, Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. As they failed to bring any good success for the franchise and there were rumors that the tension between them caused the team to break up and head towards a new start. Kendrick Perkins also gave the well-deserved flowers to the young veterans of the Utah Jazz.
Kendrick Perkins also mentioned how things down there would be easy for Will Hardy the new head coach of the Utah Jazz. As there are no such superstars in the team who need that extra minutes, respect and credits. And, now the Jazz are looking more like a good team. As they are now improved on the aspects of ball movement and everyone looks more responsible and the efforts are from the entire team.
Can the Utah Jazz be a winning team as Kendrick Perkins believe?
Kendrick Perkins believes the Utah Jazz are capable of playing some winning basketball. As the young and responsible veterans are doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Multiple jobs are at ease in the franchise after a tense postseason and off-season. As things are good for them and the front office and Head Coach Will Hardy are giving out the best possible efforts.
The trade which sent Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland Cavaliers and in exchange brought Lauri Markkanen, Collin Sexton, and Ochai Agbaji, three first round picks, and two pick swaps to the Jazz has been great. This exchange has really aged well for both the sides and the trade has also been a win-win deal. As just like the Jazz even the Cavs are having a good time.
Also, as Kendrick Perkins rightly appreciated the Jazz team. Let’s not sleep on them. As they really have a great young core and with some added experience and toughness the team can really be a winning team and prosper ahead. Also, if they continue to do what they are doing they can be playoffs’ bound and if on the right track they can also get a good deep run.
