“Those two together can be your culture and foundation” Kendrick Perkins believes New York Knicks should do watever necessary to acquire Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell could potentially be on his way out from the Utah Jazz after the recent moves they have been making to rebuild into becoming a top level contender soon. The team has been a viable threat to the Western Conference standings making the playoffs consistently but they have not made a deep run past the second round however. The Jazz have great potential but will they stick on to it?
Close to a month ago, they traded the former defensive player of the year, Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Patrick Beverley and bunch of other trade assets. One of the speculated reasons as to why they made this move was due to the lack of chemistry between their point guard and the center. Gobert recently opened up the trade saying that the front office decided it was time to move on and they did exactly that.
Utah Jazz reportedly interested in trading Donovan Mitchell
It seems as if the Jazz a willing to completely rebuild their roster after recently coming to talks with the New York Knicks to trade Donovan Mitchell. The Knicks have also entered a spot of trading from pieces to complete their roster and recently acquire Jalen Bruson from the Dallas Mavericks. The team has been very interested in signing Mitchell as he also grew up in the area.
New York has eight future first round picks to offer for acquiring better players to their team. A mock package suggests that RJ Barrett, Quentin Grimes, Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin and Cam Reddish are all worthy enough to help thus trade fall through. The other destination rumored to be a landing spot for the All-Star point guard is the Miami Heat, but that does not seem as likely to happen.

Kendrick Perkins believes the New York Knicks must push for Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell has proven several times that he can lead a team with his top level scoring potential. Not to forget, he also averaged 44.8% from the field, 35.5% from three shooting 3.5 made attempts per game and also 85.3% from the line. Kendrick Perkins believes that the Knicks need to make a push to acquire him as he will be a good piece to build around.
“We gotta to chop it. We’re talking about Donovan Mitchell still a young guy that’s scratching the surface in his prime, has a lot to offer, the Knicks should go all in on him. You pair him up with Jalen Brunson, look I’m not saying they’re going to deliver a title, but those two together can be your foundation and your culture to actually be eye candy to attract other free agents.”
