“You gotta fight back” – Kendrick Perkins calls Domantas Sabonis dominating Anthony Davis yet again ‘disrespectful’
The Kings' center, Domantas Sabonis is undefeated against the Lakers' center Anthony Davis.
Kendrick Perkins calls out Anthony Davis for losing yet again against Domantas Sabonis.
The Sacramento Kings played against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. The Lakers have not won a single game against the Kings this season and today was no different. The Lakers lost the game 107-120. As such, the Kings completely dominated the Lakers throughout the game.
A topic that is swirling in the NBA currently is the match-up between Lakers’ Anthony Davis and Kings’ Domantas Sabonis. Both being great centers in the league, fans are comparing the two every time they play together. Similar to the Lakers and Kings record, Davis is now 0-10 while facing Sabonis. The NBA world is unhappy with the Lakers’ big man’s consistent losses against the Kings’ star.
Not just fans, now NBA analysts are also addressing the subject. After Wednesday’s loss, ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins reacted to the loss on X. Perkins called out Davis and told him “fight back”. The analyst wrote,
This is just flat out disrespectful at this point what Sabonis is doing to AD!!! At some point you gotta fight back. God Bless America.Kendrick Perkins via X
Perkins wants the Brow to respond to Sabonis’ dominant and consistent performance. Perkins referred to Davis having zero wins against the Europeans as “disrespectful.” During the game, it was a battle between the centers as Davis scored a double-double and Sabonis scored a triple-double. But Davis’ performance was not enough for the Lakers to get a win.
Anthony Davis calls Domantas Sabonis a physical player
After the loss, AD talked about Sabonis in the post-game interview. Davis was asked about playing against a physical player like the European. The 31-year-old mentioned that the player’s defense was not a problem for the team. The low score was the result of the poor field goal percentage of the team. His offensive performance seemed to be the problem.
The Lakers star said:
Yeah he's a physical player. You know just try to match his physicality, make him take a lot tough shots. I think he just hurt us on the glass I mean not defensively, we just missed a lot of shots.Anthiny Davis at the post-game interview
The center talked about the Lakers’ need to stop Sabonis from getting offensive rebounds. Davis ended his answer by praising the player and referring to him as an “All-Star” and a “good player.”
It seems as despite losing ten times, Davis has nothing but respect for his opponent. AD scored a double-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Sabonis on the other hand had a triple-double scoring 17 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists in the game.
