“He’s the guy who will beat you with skillset, shooting and craftiness” Kendrick Perkins claims Stephen Curry to be the next Tom Brady

Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry and NFL icon Tom Brady
Ever since Stephen Curry set foot on the basketball court, fans have witnessed him making baskets after baskets with ease. When Golden State Warriors selected him in 2009 draft, NBA fans experienced the modern-day game flowing in a completely different manner. He thrived on the big stage also, draining shots – no matter the range. At the age of 34, he just won his fourth NBA Championship and first NBA Finals MVP. While many doubted his longevity, Curry indeed shows no signs of slowing down as he prepares for his 13th season in coming months. In the same process, Kendrick Perkins, who was once an opponent on the court, is now a fan of the Golden State Warriors’ franchise player.
According to Kendrick Perkins, Curry isn’t going to for a very long time. The former NBA player even considers that Curry is still in his prime and has 8 to 10 years of high-level basketball game remained in him. That would take Curry to 44 years and will be part of the elite old stars who played this high-intensity game even after turning 40.
Perkins said, “In his prime, I would say another eight to ten years. Look, when I look at Steph Curry, I think of Steph Curry, as far as longevity-wise, could actually be the Tom Brady of the NBA,” He didn’t stop there and explained his views.
Kendrick Perkins compares Stephen Curry with NFL Icon Tom Brady

Stephen Curry is generational talent in the NBA and has proved his mantle in the league every season. He was unanimous MVP and won 4 NBA titles with the Warriors. Very recently he was named Finals MVP after thrashing Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. There were no gray spots in his production, though many expected him to be “out of form” in mid-season.
Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins contradicts others and compares Steph with NFL Legend Tom Brady. The New England Patriots Icon also has dominated the game winning record 7-Super Bowl titles and 3 MVP awards in his 20+ years career. Interestingly Brady is still active on the field, as he announced his return to the NFL, at the age of 44.
Perkins sees similar passion and fire in NBA’s 3-point king. Explaining the comparisons between Stephen Curry’s skill-sets that will allow him to continue at a high level, he said, “Because, when you look at Steph Curry, his game is not reliant on athleticism. He’s not a guy that has to dunk the ball. He’s not a guy that has to beat you with speed. He’s a guy that beats you with craftiness, his skillset, and, most importantly, his shooting. His shooting is not going anywhere no time soon.”
If Steph so plays for 10 more seasons at similar efficiency, he could win a minimum of 3 more titles easily. He might not even need 10 years to surpass Brady’s NFL championship totals with the kind of Championship team he has with him.
Perkins witnessed Curry’s 1st NBA title when he was with the Cavs and played against the Warriors in the 2015 NBA Finals.

He was present again for the 2018 NBA Finals, but Curry-KD dominance led the Warriors to 3rd title in 4 seasons. Having seen him play on the court, and with recent performances, Perkins might be right on his part, and Dubs nation would be pleased with the predictions – let alone with the comparisons.
