“His body language is horrible” Kendrick Perkins criticizes Nikola Jokic for Game 2 rebellion

Despite how versatile Nikola Jokic may be on the court, he is one of the very few players who tend to lose their temper over minute incidents that take place. This season has been a marvelous run for the Denver Nuggets center and the team as well as they were able to make the cut for the playoffs even after being two men down. Michael Porter Jr. will most likely return next season while Jamal Murray is slowly recovering from a torn ACL and will remain out for the foreseeable future.

 The Nuggets finished as the sixth seed in the Western Conference this season with a record of 48 wins and 34 losses. Many were surprised as the team narrowly escaped the play-in tournament and called for Nikola Jokic’s second straight MVP award. The Nuggets have started their race towards the title against the Golden State Warriors and the series is now two games down.

So far, the round one series between the Warriors and Nuggets has been one-sided. The Dubs were able to capture two early victories leaving Michael Malone and Denver frustrated as the series continues. In Game 1, the Warriors beat them 123-107 being led by Jordon Poole who scored 30 points. Nikola Jokic had only 25 points and 10 rebounds in 35 minutes of playing time.

In Game 2, Jokic was visibly very frustrated as the pressure unraveled over the Nuggets leader. He received two technical foul calls which consequently sent him to the locker room during the fourth quarter. His first technical would come after slamming the basketball in frustration after unsuccessfully blocking Andrew Wiggins’ shot. Later in the fourth, Draymond Green would bully the Joker who could not convert the ball. His reaction to the no-call did not sit right with referee Kevin Cutler who gave him the ejection.

Nikola Jokic has been phenomenal throughout the season averaging 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game on 58.3% shooting from the field. He put up much better numbers than last season when he won the league’s most valuable player award while leading a team being the only All-Star caliber player available.

Kendrick Perkins has spoken on the Joker numerous times on ESPN expressing his views. He immediately took to Twitter after last night’s unfolding of Jokic. He tweeted saying, “Jokic body language is horrible.” Jokic has definitely not been himself since the start of the playoffs. During his last five games of the regular season, he averaged 37.8 points, 16.6 rebounds, and  6.6 assists per game. Regardless, Jokic is currently on top in the MVP rankings with most signs pointing towards a recapturing.
