The NBA All-Star break ended last month. After the break, every team gets ready for the postseason.

The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers are two of the Western Conference teams that will compete for a spot in the playoffs based on the current standings. Being the 9th and 10th team and considering the tough competition in the West, Charles Barkley made a statement a few weeks ago. On ‘Inside the NBA’ on TNT, the analyst slammed other networks for considering the two teams as playoff contenders.

Charles Barkley is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Everything that comes out of his mouth is not the gospel.
Perkins stated

He also showed respect to Barkley before continuing and explained why the other networks are considering the Lakers and Warriors as playoff contenders.

They [Lakers and Warriors] have LeBron James who is the greatest to ever touch the d**n basketball and you have Steph Curry who is a generational talent and top 10 all-topper.

Perkins added

The analyst explained the stars’ performances over the years are the reason other teams are talking about them. He also believes that the teams will not do great in the postseason, but the star players on the team should get the appreciation they deserve.

What did Charles Barkley say about the Warriors and the Lakers as championship contenders?

On Inside the NBA, Charles Barkley shared his thoughts on the Warriors and Lakers this season. The analyst was unhappy with other networks giving importance to the two teams.

I’m so sick of these fools on other networks talk about the Lakers and Warriors. We don’t brag about the other play-in teams, do we? I understand Steph is great, LeBron is great ain’t nobody worried about the Lakers and the Warriors in the West.

Charles Barkley

The analyst stated the stars’ presence on the team will not change their performances. According to him, the networks are “fools” to consider the teams as contenders, as the same treatment is not given to the 9th and 10th teams in the East. Barkley believes the two teams are “not a threat” to the top teams in the West.

Perkins seems to completely disagree with Barkley, as the ESPN analyst has a contradictory opinion. After suspecting that Barkley was talking about ESPN while mentioning the other networks, Perkins roasted the former league MVP. Perkins believes that the stars are the exact reason for their teams getting mentioned in the playoff conversations.
