Kendrick Perkins prematurely predicted that Los Angeles Lakers player Anthony Davis will win the MVP award this year. However, some people’s hopes have been dimmed by the Lakers’ 123-109 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the season opener, which raises serious concerns about how well Davis will perform this year.
The Lakers’ 2023 season got off to an early loss over the defending champion Golden State Warriors. Warriors upset Lakers in the season opener
With the ring ceremony and victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tip Off Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors kicked off the season in style. Despite a shaky start, Steph Curry stole the show with 33 points, seven assists, and six rebounds in the 123-109 triumph. Russell Westbrook scored 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Warriors in range in the second half. James lead the Lakers with 31 points and 14 rebounds, while Davis contributed 27 points. The Warriors eventually strolled to an easy victory despite the Lakers’ best efforts to attempt a comeback.
