“The end for the Suns?” Kevin Durant could potentially miss rest of the regular season after picking up an injury during pregame warmup
The Phoenix Suns might have to get ready for the playoffs without Kevin Durant amongst their ranks after he picked up an ankle injury during warmups

Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant rolled his ankle while shooting layups before the Phoenix Suns‘ game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The small forward has been out once already this season due to a knee injury and this time his ankle injury looks much worse. “There is concern within the Suns’ organization that Kevin Durant has a grade 2 sprain and could miss the remainder of the regular season and potentially the start of the playoffs,” tweeted @TheNBACentral.
Kevin Durant was set to make his home debut for the Suns against his old team the OKC Thunder in what was a match made in heaven but the gods had other plans. KD has a history of injuries but has also returned from every injury stronger than ever. If Kevin Durant does end up missing the rest of the regular season the Suns will have to hope Devin Booker can continue his great scoring run and secure home court for the playoffs.
When it comes to the playoffs, Kevin Durant was embarrassed last year with a first-round sweep against the Boston Celtics and is looking for redemption. However, with this injury being feared to rule him out indefinitely, he could miss Phoenix first round matchup which at the moment is the Golden State Warriors. If anyone knows KD there is nothing the Slim Reaper would love more than beating Golden State in the first round. Kevin Durant won two championships there but ended things on a sour note and would want to set the record straight if he gets a chance.
Devin Booker has hit form at the right time for the Phoenix Suns

Devin Booker became the first-ever Phoenix Suns player to score 35+ points in 4 straight games. Booker scored 44 points in just 29 minutes in a comprehensive win against the Thunder, Booker has averaged 38 points and 6.8 assists in his last 4 games as the Suns build their win streak. Booker spoke on KD’S injury post-game giving fans hope that it was just a rolled ankle and that he will have his debut soon.
The Phoenix Suns are just two games behind the falling Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference and leapfrogging them would be a huge step toward securing a home seed. If the Suns clinch the #3 seed it would see them potentially facing the Los Angeles Clippers in the playoffs. The Suns knocked the Clippers out in 2021 on their road to the NBA finals.
Devin Booker has had a reputation for being a streaky player and the Suns would hope this is not one of those streaks. Booker will have to keep a similar level of scoring up for the rest of the season to keep the Suns in the top half of the playoff seeds. Booker has a significant lack of scoring support without Kevin Durant by his side but knowing that KD could return for the playoffs will certainly motivate the 26-year-old.
