Many European players, such as Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, and Victor Wembanyama, have expressed their thoughts on the ease of scoring in the NBA and the more physical nature of FIBA rules, which, in comparison to the NBA, make it more challenging to adapt. The domination of European players in the league has led fans to believe that playing with FIBA rules might be more difficult, although Kevin Durant seems to disagree.
In a recent Twitter exchange with his fans, KD answered various questions, one of which inquired about his opinion on European players’ claim that FIBA rules make the game harder and which aspect of the game is affected by these rules. The two-time Finals MVP responded that it’s not harder; it’s simply different. Ultimately, it’s all about playing basketball. He replied via tweet, “It’s not harder pause, just different. It’s just hoop at the end of the day.”
Kevin Durant’s opinion carries weight due to his dominant presence in the NBA for over 15 years. The Easy Money Sniper earned his MVP title in 2014 while playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder and secured two Finals MVP awards during his tenure with the Golden State Warriors. Currently, a member of the Phoenix Suns, the Slim Reaper aims to secure his third championship alongside Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, who was recently acquired through a trade with the Washington Wizards.

Victor Wembanyama calls the NBA less physical compared to the French League
French League MVP Victor Wembanyama‘s impressive performance in the Summer League has caught everyone’s attention. In a post-game interview, Wemby was asked about the difference between playing in the French League and the NBA. Wembanyama stated that the NBA is less physical but boasts the best athletes in the world and a higher level of talent.
“The court is more open, it’s going fast, but it’s less physical,” Wembanyama said. “I get fouled a lot, but not as much. Here players are just flying, out there it’s more on the ground, pushing on the ground, big box outs. Here it’s great athletes, the best in the world, way more talent. But I like this better, though.”
Wembanyama recently faced a setback against the San Antonio Spurs, struggling in his first game but impressing everyone with his second game, where he dominated with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Fans are eagerly anticipating more from Wembanyama, but they will have to wait until October to witness the French phenom in action once again.
