Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns suffered yet another defeat to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. The Suns lost 87-97 to the Nikola Jokic-led side who have now won two straight games in Round 2. Durant and Devin Booker combined added 59 points for their side, yet ended up failing to get the win. Despite putting up some numbers on the board, Durant suffered the wrath of NBA Twitter for a poor shooting night.

Kevin Durant went 10/27 FG (37%) and 2/12 3PT (16.7%) in tonight’s game against the Nuggets. Overall, Durant scored 24 points, dished out three assists, and hurled in eight rebounds. Booker led the way for the team with 35 points, six assists, and five rebounds. DeAndre Ayton then followed with 14 points while others on the team failed to put up a fight against Denver.

Nikola Jokic led the way for his team with 39 points, five assists, and 16 rebounds in another terrific performance. The closest anyone came was Aaron Gordon with 16 points, highlighting the dominance of the Joker. It was a neck-to-neck contest going into the fourth; however, the Nuggets rallied and got the dub. Poor shooting display from Durant garnered an avalanche of criticism on social media. Fans didn’t take this performance lightly and let the player know that he was “past his prime.”

NBA Twitter burst out on Kevin Durant for having an “awful” performance against the Denver Nuggets. They even pointed out that Durant NEEDED Steph Curry to support him to even stand a chance at getting the win. Take a look at the fan reactions to Durant’s performance below.

Two straight losses aren’t the only concern for the Phoenix Suns who are putting themselves closer and closer to a clean sweep. They also need to be worried about the form of their star player Kevin Durant. Well, it’ll be expected of Durant to save his team from being kicked out of the series. But for now, enjoy some of the reactions fans on Twitter had to Durant’s “awful” performance.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Suns plan on coming back from this loss in their next game against the Denver Nuggets. Kevin Durant will hope to put on a show in order to silence his haters who think “he’s washed” and “past his prime.” Though, the Jokic-led side will also not give away their lead easily.
