The Phoenix Suns had a rough visit to Denver in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals. Although at half-time, they were at a striking distance with the score 49-52, the second half was pretty forgetful for Devin Booker and Co. The Nuggets had an authoritative 20-point lead consistently as they gave no room for a Suns comeback. Devin Booker had a decent 28-point game. However, Kevin Durant, despite scoring 26, didn’t have the best game of his career. He failed to score from beyond the three-point line and ended up giving five turnovers leading to the massive Denver lead.
The Nuggets and the Suns are both going neck and neck. Both teams have managed to win their home games in the series so far. Nikola Jokic led the way yet again with 29 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. He also set an NBA record for the most triple-doubles by a center. Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. both put up 19 points in assisting Jokic. Bruce Brown, too had an impressive game off the bench scoring 25 points. The score at the end of the regulation was 102-118.
After Kevin Durant’s rough time on the court in Game 5, many have been critical of him. After all, he is one of the most experienced players on the Phoenix roster. Durant giving up five turnovers is an act the Suns would like to live without. Moreover, the forward is also considered a shooting asset. However, his disappointing run with three-pointers failed to give Phoenix a genuine chance at coming back into the contest.

Fans and critics on Twitter are not known to be kind to players with poor performances. Kevin Durant faced the same fate after his struggles against the Nuggets. While some are calling him out for his irresponsibility, many are criticizing him for failing to perform well even in a well-performing team like the Phoenix Suns. Fans are also drawing out his tendency to play with super teams saying that he, as an individual player, doesn’t have the potential to win. Even Skip Bayless tweeted in criticism of Durant. Here are some fan reactions to Kevin Durant’s Game 5 performance.
Although the Denver Nuggets lead the series 3-2, both teams will head to Phoenix. The Suns have played well at home, losing just one game in the playoffs so far. They would like to defend their home court and take the series to Game 7. Devin Booker has been in phenomenal touch. One could certainly expect him to step up for his side and level the series 3-3 in Game 6.
On the other hand, the Denver Nuggets would like to close the series out in Phoenix. They are just one win away from advancing into the Western Conference Finals. Moreover, Nikola Jokic would like to lead his side to the finals and potentially win the NBA title. After all, the Nuggets have proved themselves as serious title contenders with exceptional regular and post-season runs. Needless to say, we can expect some serious fighting spirit from both teams.
