The Phoenix Suns were unable to extend their 2-win streak after suffering a defeat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks

However, interestingly enough, it was the Suns’ star Kevin Durant who took the postgame interview. When asked about the lackluster rhythm, the forward made a rather bold statement, bringing in the topic of how much he gets paid, and there were no excuses for his performances.

I get paid so much money that it don't matter about a rhythm. I've just got to figure it out. There's no excuse for me missing shots.
Said Kevin Durant after the disappointing loss

With that being said, there is no denying that Kevin Durant was disappointed after losing at the away grounds of the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Notably, it was a rather frustrating blow given their form into the season.

It was quite a clash between two in-form giants of the season who look more than ever serious to compete for the title. However, it was the home side that took the victory. As for KD and the Phoenix Suns, they faded away with the last half, which the superstar believed was upon him as well, who was 9-of-23 in the loss.

While he was able to contribute with 23 points and 6 rebounds in 40 minutes with 5 turnovers, Durant felt he could have done more with his shots.

And whether he was right or wrong in his words, maybe the defeat was there to give a sucker-punch to a $47 million-earning superstar who is well content with his earnings but not much with his tonight’s performance.

Phoenix Suns lose against Dallas Mavericks

It was a disappointing defeat for the Phoenix Suns, as they failed to get a crucial win against the Dallas Mavericks. With this victory, both giants are now tied for a win-loss record with 33 wins and 23 losses. It was a battle between the point guards, who were both on fire for the entirety of the game.

For the Suns, it was Devin Booker who was electric, scoring 35 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds in the entirety of the game, giving a lifeline during the game.

But it wasn’t enough for the offense of the Dallas Mavericks, who looked more than comfortable, to get a win, and all props go to Luka Doncic once again. 41 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds saw the Slovenian grab a win for his team as they now sit 6th in the Western Conference table.

With crucial games ahead now, it’s now or never for the Suns, as they hope things will gel quicker within their team and produce good results in their future games.
