Kevin Durant, who has been out for a month with a knee injury, tweeted about the viral video of third-graders celebrating during the game. He was amused by the way kids carry themselves while playing competitive sports. Children often find inspiration from their idols and replicate gestures as well as playing styles.
“As a kid, I remember, we did what we saw the pros do…good sh*t Lil homies,” he tweeted. Not everyone agreed with the Brooklyn Nets star’s amusement, though. Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and Evan Fournier of the New York Knicks both voiced concerns about the actions and the example that NBA players are creating for the younger generation when they celebrate in this way.
Evan Fournier, New York Knicks also commented on the viral video, “Smh. We need to set a better example for this new generation man” after which Dame Lilliard, Portland Trail Blazers replied to Fournier’s comments, “Facts . It’s getting out of control”.
Trash talking, joyous occasions, and discussions about what is and isn’t beneficial to the game obey. Although the goal of youth sports is for participants to have fun, the video and kids’ propensity to copy what they see at the highest level of competition have raised discussions over how much celebration is acceptable.

Without Kevin Durant, the losing streak persists. The Phoenix Suns, who were playing without Chris Paul and Devin Booker and had dropped three straight, defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 117-112. This was the Nets’ fourth straight defeat. Despite a slow start, Kyrie Irving finished with 30 points on 11-of-27 shooting, including a stellar 21-point fourth quarter. Nic Claxton produced a strong double-double effort. His tenacious defense also led to three blocks.
Even though the plot is uncannily repeating itself, Brooklyn’s season felt different before Durant’s injury. Durant had pushed himself to the front of the MVP conversation as the Nets had won 18 of their previous 20 games, the finest run in team history. But the squad seemed helpless during a protracted losing skid without the 12-time All-Star.
Kyrie managed to elevate the Nets above the Utah Jazz with an outstanding offensive performance. He led the team finishing with 48 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists along with 8 three-pointers. Though the Nets have fallen short a little bit, they still show a lot of potential as active title contenders in the East.
