Kevin Durant’s influence on social media
NB stars have a huge fan following, so it is no surprise that megastar like Kevin Durant has over 20 Million followers just on Twitter. He also keeps his fans engaged with regular updates, answering their question or even throwing dis at his critics.
Very recently when he has swept aside in the 1st round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs, critics targeted KD for uncharacteristically poor performance. But Durant used social media to answer his doubters and detractors. Kevin Durant also used the same to react to his former teammates’ comments. KD’s trade request also took social media by storm, either reacting to the news or possible trades for 2-time NBA Champion.
But there hasn’t been any concrete advancement on the trade as one of his preferred destinations Phoenix Suns signed Deandre Ayton, indirectly cooling off the interest in the 4-time Scoring champion. And Golden State Warriors, the only team capable of pulling off the deal single-handedly also decided against making move for their former finals MVP.
The NBA free agency has hit a bit of a stall as teams and general managers are waiting to see how the Durant situation plays out. It’s been reported Brooklyn is asking for a king’s ransom in a trade, but the market simply has not been there.
