What a game it was between the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors. From the crowd to the very end moments – drama, chaos, and more drama. But amongst all, it was Kevin Durant who Stephen A. Smith picked to say a few words about.
Golden State Warriors went on to win the game by 113-112 in the dying seconds thanks to the greatest shooter in NBA history, Stephen Curry, who drained a three, leaving the game at 0.7. It was yet another, one of Steph’s career highlights, marking his name amongst the pedestals of icons, making an even harder argument to not include him.
But one argument that is gaining momentum is Kevin Durant and his chances of winning another Championship. And after Steph drained that game-winning shot, it was KD’s body language that had Stephen A Smith comment on the matter.
When I saw what I saw with Steph Curry hitting that shot... I said to myself, 'That's who you elected to leave.' And it makes me wonder if Kevin Durant will ever be a champion again because that guy is no longer your teammate.Stephen A. Smith via ESPN
The last two glories that KD achieved with the Golden State Warriors were the back-to-back wins in 2017 and 2018. Moreover, the team included the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, KD himself, Draymond Green, and many more. But since his departure, his chances of winning another title have never been solid. One main reason for this is the absence of Stephen Curry, who is now no longer his teammate.
Steph Curry scores the game-winner with ex-teammate calling him the “Greatest”
Where would the Golden State Warriors be without Stephen Curry? That has been the question in play given how many times he has carried this team. Last night was yet another one of his magic moments on full display.
In their win against the Phoenix Suns by 113-112, it was the Point Guard for the Warriors who shone till the very end. Curry, who got 30 points, 6 assists, and 9 rebounds was instrumental in that win. But it was all about the ending moments when he scored a game-winner three to seal the game in their favor. Such was his performance that even Kevin Durant had a few words of praise.

And it was the perfect sum up, given the dreadful season the Warriors are going through. But even in the dark times, if there is one man they all can blindly rely on, it’s Stephen Curry.
