Kevin Durant said, “I felt like we had a good team. I felt like this is the place I said I wanted to be. We started to set something up in the future to be a solid team. So to be honest I thought this was still a great option, too.” He added, “I still love my teammates, I love playing at the Barclays. So I felt like regardless it’s gonna be an easy decision to come back and play because I love the hoop. This has been a good environment for me the last two years, even though I had some doubts, but overall, looking at it, I still like to come in here and get work in.”

In an interview on media day, Kevin also stated, “I was upset, and as a family, they understood that I was upset. Some of the stuff they agreed with, and so we talked about it, and it was over a couple of weeks towards the end of that where we talked about it, and we came out and we voiced all our concerns about how we all can be better, and it just worked out from there. He concluded, “I’m glad I’m here now.”

During the Brooklyn Nets media day interview, many reports asked Kevin Durant about his off-season trade request and why did rescind it. The Nets star player got back at the words and said, “Can we move on past that at some point? “I know it’s an interesting story. I know that it took up most of the offseason and drama sells, I get that. But I didn’t miss any games, I didn’t miss any practices. I’m still here, so hopefully we can move past that.”

When they open their NBA campaign, the Nets will feature a ‘Big 3’ of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons. The Brooklyn Nets are still one of the most talented teams in the East. If they can remain united and apply force, they should be considered a contender to come out of the East and win a title.
