As the NBA All-Star weekend approaches, fans as well as players are getting ready to enjoy one of the biggest basketball events of the year. The one matchup that fans are looking forward to is the 3-point contest between Warrior’s Steph Curry and Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu. Both hold records for the previous 3-point All-Star contest of the NBA and WNBA respectively.
Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant, Curry’s ex-teammate was asked a few days ago about who is his pick for the contest. Durant was quick to choose Curry. But on the next day when Curry was asked to guess who Durant might have picked Curry jokingly called him an ‘Instigator’ and said that he would have chosen Ionescu.
After Curry’s remark, Durant switched to Ionescu as his pick for the win. But again, he said he is going back to Steph. He added,
I said Steph first. But Steph kinda disrespectfully called me an instigator, so went to Sabrina, but Imma go back Steph. You know how I like to switch.
KD always gets called out by fans for switching to too many teams. He left the Warriors after winning two championships with them. So here KD took the opportunity to roast himself jokingly.
Kevin Durant says Steph Curry is in the Top 5 list
The game between the Warriors and Suns was certainly an exciting one. But Steph Curry’s last-second clutch three-pointer was the main conversation of the day. The three-pointer became the decider of the game, resulting in Warrior’s win.
In an interview post-game, Kevin Durant was asked about his thoughts on Curry’s game-winner. He responded with high praise for Curry, calling him the greatest in his position and the top 5 to ever play the game. Regardless of losing, Durant did not disrespect Curry in any way.
Durant and Curry were teammates for almost 4 years. Both even won 2 championships together. Despite not being on the same team, it seems as if Durant still respects and appreciates Curry’s game.
