Kevin Durant is been a regular name in the NBA headlines since Stephen Curry got his first-ever Finals MVP after winning the 2022 NBA championship. It was Stephen Curry’s fourth title in the last eight seasons. Whereas KD who won two championships and got two FMVPs playing alongside the Chef is still maintaining the same resume and even got swept in the first round of the playoffs this year. As he left the Warriors to prove himself but is still struggling. Charles Barkley and many old heads believe that Kevin Durant was never the main guy on the Warriors’ roster and was just riding the bus and wasn’t a real driver. Chuck and KD have been going against each other throughout the postseason for this debate as the Round Mound of Rebound believes KD still has a lot to prove as he hasn’t been a bus driver so far in his career.
Charles Barkley after the Golden State Warriors won the NBA Finals took a wild shot on the Nets’ star Kevin Durant by discussing his legacy. As he quoted: “Before KD gets that great respect from all the old heads, he’s gonna have to win a championship as the bus driver. He joined that team that already won a championship so no disrespect, that’s just a fact. So until he is the guy on a championship team, we’re not gon’ ever give him the respect that he probably deserves and that’s just the way it is. The game hasn’t changed. Kobe said it, LeBron said it. We gon’ hold him to the same high standard.”
Charles Barkley has some serious business with Kevin Durant as the rivalry between them and the hate they are showing for each other is surely very real. The analyst has straight away said that he and many other old heads will never give KD the respect he probably deserves until he doesn’t carries a team to a championship. His take on Kevin Durant’s legacy has divided the internet as many fans disagree with him. But there are also fans who are riding with it as even they believe KD never drove a bus and got carried to the Finals.
The Nets’ star is already known for his tweets as even he’s good at trash-talking especially while defending himself. So as expected he responded to Charles Barkley’s claim and take on his legacy but his reply was an unexpected one. As he not only shut-downed the ringless analyst but also called him out as a jealous guy since now the players are getting more of the bread and fame.

As many are also ranking Stephen Curry above him now.
The only option KD has is to carry the Brooklyn Nets to win a championship and be the bus driver by leading them or else his legacy can be a washed one and he’ll be trolled forever as he never drove the bus.
